What is Happy Islam?
Happy Islam is a free, ad-free Islamic companion app that combines Qur'an reading and audio, Quran Audio translation stream, prayer times, qibla direction, live Islamic radio, a tasbih counter, the 99 Names of Allah, and a private reflection journal.
Is Happy Islam free?
Yes. All core features are free with no ads. An optional sign-in enables syncing bookmarks and private journal entries across devices.
Why is Happy Islam free when other Quran apps charge?
Happy Islam is built as sadaqah jariyah (ongoing charity). Most Quran apps monetise through paid subscriptions, one-off purchases, feature paywalls, or advertising. We chose none of those: the Qur'an, prayer times, qibla, live Islamic radio, tasbih, the 99 Names of Allah, and the reflection journal are all fully free with no ads, no premium tier, and no locked features. The project is funded by its maintainers and voluntary donations.
Is there a premium or paid tier?
No. There is no premium plan, no paid upgrade, and no locked features. Every feature — Qur'an with audio, prayer times, qibla, live radio, tasbih, 99 Names, semantic search, and the private journal — is available to every user at no cost.
Are there ads or tracking?
No. Happy Islam shows no advertising and does not sell user data. Analytics are privacy-respecting and used only to improve the app; journal entries and bookmarks are private to the user and never used to train AI models.
Which languages does Happy Islam support?
Translations are available in English, Arabic, Urdu, Bengali, Hindi, Indonesian, Malay, Turkish, French, Spanish, Italian, German, Dutch, Polish, Russian, Azerbaijani, Uzbek, Chinese, Thai, Tamil, Persian, Pashto, Somali, Amharic, Twi, Yoruba, Dagbani, Kikuyu, Hausa, Swahili and Portuguese, with more community translations in progress.
Which Quran translations have full verse-by-verse audio?
Complete audio is available in 30 languages: English, French, Spanish, Portuguese, Italian, German, Dutch, Polish, Russian, Turkish, Azerbaijani, Persian, Pashto, Urdu, Bengali, Hindi, Tamil, Indonesian, Malay, Chinese, Thai, Uzbek, Swahili, Somali, Amharic, Twi, Yoruba, Kikuyu, Dagbani and Hausa. More audio languages are in progress.
Is my journal private?
Yes. Journal entries are stored per user with row-level security and are never shared or used to train AI models.
Is the Quran audio narration AI-generated?
Yes. The verse-by-verse audio translations are narrated with AI text-to-speech voices. The translation texts themselves are published human translations, and each language page credits its translator.
Are the songs and tracks on Happy Islam Radio AI-generated?
Human-written lyrics, AI assisted composition. All lyrics are written by the Happy Islam team with no AI involvement; the musical composition, instrumentals and vocals are produced with AI assistance.
Who owns the tracks and songs played on the platform?
All tracks and songs played on Happy Islam are owned by the platform. They are produced in-house and licensed for playback on Happy Islam only; they may not be copied, redistributed or reused elsewhere without written permission.
Does Happy Islam work offline?
Yes. Happy Islam is a Progressive Web App with offline caching. Previously played audio and cached pages continue to work without a connection.
How does semantic search work on Happy Islam?
The search page at /search uses vector embeddings to match your question by meaning across the Qur'an, the 99 Names of Allah, and site pages, and cites the exact verse or passage each result came from.
Can other apps query Happy Islam search?
Yes. Happy Islam exposes a public JSON search endpoint at https://happyislam.life/api/public/search?q=YOUR_QUERY that returns semantic matches with citations to the source passage.
How do I report content or a bug?
Use the /report page inside the app or email request@aitwauthentica.com. Every report is reviewed by a human on the AITW Authentica team, typically within three business days.
How do I delete my account and data?
Sign in, open Settings → Data & privacy → Delete my account. This wipes bookmarks, journal, reading log, tafsir ratings, saved radio, preferences, and your auth record.
Is Happy Islam available on the App Store?
Yes. Happy Islam is live on the Apple App Store for iPhone and iPad at https://apps.apple.com/gh/app/happy-islam/id6791118280. The iOS app is free with no ads and no in-app purchases. It loads the same web app at happyislam.life and adds native prayer notifications, haptics, background audio and Sign In with Apple.
