AI transparency

Happy Islam uses AI in a small number of clearly defined places. Whenever you see an AI-narrated or AI-assisted label in the app, the content behind it was produced or voiced with AI. Everything else — the Qur'anic Arabic text, the published translations, our written lyrics, articles and reflections — is human authored or sourced from published scholarly works.

Where AI is used

• Qur'an audio translations (AI-narrated) — the words are the published human translation; only the voice is synthetic, generated with text-to-speech providers (ElevenLabs, Microsoft Azure Speech, Khaya AI / GhanaNLP). No AI rewrites, summarises or interprets the translation text.
• Happy Islam Radio songs (AI-assisted composition) — all lyrics are written by the Happy Islam team with no AI involvement. The musical composition, instrumentals and vocals are produced with AI assistance. All tracks and songs played on the platform are owned by Happy Islam.
• Journal reflection prompts — optional AI-assisted prompts. They are suggestions for personal reflection, not religious rulings.
• Semantic search — AI embeddings help match your question to verses and content on the platform.

Where AI is never used

• The Arabic Qur'anic text (KFGQPC / Tanzil corpus) — served verbatim.
• Translation wording — quoted verbatim from the published translator.
• Human reciters' audio, prayer-time calculations, and Hijri dates.
• Fatwa, rulings or religious advice. Happy Islam does not generate them.

Your journal entries, bookmarks and searches are never used to train AI models. See the Privacy Policy for details.

Reporting a problem

Synthetic voices can mispronounce words. If you hear an error or spot AI content that is not labelled, please file a report or email hello@happyislam.life.
